Answer before you look. The point is not to collect right answers — it is to find out which parts of the book you cannot navigate yet. A question you guessed correctly is still a gap.
Then read the worked solution even when you got it right, because the exam will ask the same rule a different way. What you are building is the habit of knowing roughly where in the book a rule lives, which is what actually gets people through an open-book exam in the time allowed.
If a whole topic keeps going wrong, that is useful information — go and read that article properly before doing more questions on it. Grinding questions on a topic you have not read yet just teaches you your own wrong answers.
